NXT Stand & Deliver took place at the T-Mobile Arena on April 19 as part of WWE’s NXT brand. The event happened on Saturday afternoon before WrestleMania 41, and fans couldn’t wait to see what the brand had to offer. After all, NXT’s events have a tendency to give WrestleMania a run for their money.
One of the matches featured Ricky Saints defending the NXT North American Championship against Ethan Page. Saints is a new NXT North American Champion, but he was facing the man he toppled for the quickest rise to a championship in the brand.
Saints had the fans behind him in a huge way, as he strutted around the ring, even putting his own flair on Undertaker’s old-school move. Fans were chanting “NXT” as the two carried on, but neither man wanted to give the other a real upperhand.
Saints went flying off the ropes to dive onto Page, but All Ego stepped to the side and Ricky went into the announce table instead. That put Saints down, but he wasn’t out. They continued into the ring, where Page locked in a Boston Crab.
There were a couple near fall in this match, and fans in the T-Mobile Arena chanted “NXT” as the two kept going. Ricky Saints had gas left in the tank as he hoisted up Page for his finisher and the win.
This was a big win for Ricky Saints, and he celebrated the win in Las Vegas. We will have to see what he does next, but Saints was able to kick off WrestleMania Saturday with a victory.
