Ricky Saints is laser-focused on one thing — the NXT Championship — and not even a full-scale invasion by TNA Wrestling could distract him from that goal.

During the September 23 episode of WWE NXT, chaos erupted when TNA stars stormed the arena during the champion vs. champion showdown between Oba Femi and Trick Williams. While NXT talent rushed out to defend their turf, Ricky Saints made his way to the ring — but didn’t throw a single punch. Instead, he marched through the mayhem with his eyes locked on the prize.

In an interview on Going Ringside, Saints explained exactly why he didn’t get involved in the brawl:

“I saw the NXT Championship amidst of all this chaos between TNA and NXT. You know, they’re fighting, it had nothing to do with me.”

He didn’t flinch at the flying fists or outside interference. For Saints, the belt was the only thing that mattered:

“I saw an opportunity, and I went for it. I’m good at being zoned in. I can do this a lot and lock in on something. And that’s what I did.”

Even Oba Femi standing in his way didn’t shake his confidence:

“Went for that title because ultimately I feel like it’s gonna be mine. Oba had other ideas of course, and you know, it is what it is.”

Despite the mayhem swirling around him, Saints managed to make a bold statement — without saying a word. His final move during the invasion was as symbolic as it was strategic:

“But I’m glad I was able to walk through the minefield and get to where I wanted to get to, which was the NXT Championship on that podium.”

Ricky Saints will now face Oba Femi for the NXT Championship at No Mercy on September 27. Whether he walks out as champ or not, his tunnel vision has already sparked conversation across the wrestling world.
