Richard Holliday continues to build momentum on the independent wrestling scene, and his name has surfaced in conversations about potential opportunities with larger promotions.
During a recent appearance on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Holliday spoke about his 2023 WWE tryout and how he views his future in the wrestling industry. Rather than framing his career around chasing one particular company, Holliday explained that he sees himself as something bigger than just a wrestler looking for a contract. In his view, the Richard Holliday persona has become its own brand that continues to grow.
“Listen, at the end of the day, and this just kind of goes upon everything that we’ve touched on so far, I am a business. Richard Holliday is a business and Richard Holliday is a brand and it grows every single day like at a rapid pace.”
Holliday made it clear that his current focus is on what he is doing right now rather than constantly worrying about what company might sign him next. He believes that building his reputation on the independent scene will naturally attract attention from major promotions.
“I am so concerned with what I’m doing and I know that everybody’s paying attention to me. How could you not?”
The confident independent star also doubled down on his belief that he is currently one of the top performers working outside the major companies. According to Holliday, his performances and presence are already turning heads throughout the wrestling industry.
“Like I said before, I’m the hottest on the independents. That’s not hyperbole. That’s the honest to God fact. There’s nobody above me. The only people above me are the future versions of myself. I say that all the time.”
Holliday went on to suggest that companies like WWE are likely aware of what he’s doing simply because of the attention he’s generating in the industry right now.
“And they’re paying attention. How could they not? It’s a total different era now. I mean 2023 and now, a total different time.”
For now, Holliday appears focused on continuing to grow his brand and reputation on the independent wrestling circuit while letting his work speak for itself. With his confidence and steady presence on the indie scene, it may only be a matter of time before larger promotions take a closer look.
