Rhea Ripley may not be carrying championship gold right now, but that hasn’t changed how she sees herself when the lights come on and the music hits.
While speaking on The Ebro, Laura & Rosenberg Show, Ripley was asked directly how it feels to be without a title after previously holding multiple championships, including a run with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles alongside Iyo Sky. The conversation started off lighthearted, with Ripley joking about one unexpected perk of not carrying gold everywhere she goes.
She laughed about how traveling can actually be easier without a championship belt in her bag, pointing out that security checkpoints can become a hassle when you’re carrying something that looks as valuable as a WWE title.
“I feel like it's easier to go through TSA. They don't want to open your bag just to see your title.”
After the joke, Ripley got more serious about what it actually feels like to be without a championship. She admitted that not holding a title does feel strange at times, especially after becoming used to walking around with one during previous title reigns.
“But I don't know. I feel like kind of naked in a way without it.”
Even so, Ripley made it clear that her confidence hasn’t taken a hit just because she isn’t currently holding gold. She explained that her mindset hasn’t changed when she walks through the curtain and faces the WWE crowd, because her presence alone still makes her feel like she belongs at the top of the division.
“But at the same time, like I don't mind not having a title because I still feel like — kind of what you were saying — every time I walk through the curtain and walk onto the stage in front of everyone, I feel like a champion.”
Ripley also made it clear that, in her mind, dominance in WWE isn’t defined by holding a championship alone. She believes her reputation and performance speak louder than any belt she could carry.
“So, I feel like I don't need a title to represent how dominant I am in the WWE.”
Ripley’s comments reflect the mindset of a performer who knows her value inside WWE, whether she has gold around her waist or not. With major matches always on the horizon and her status as one of the company’s most recognizable stars, her confidence without a championship may end up being just as important as the moment she holds one again.
Do you think Rhea Ripley needs a championship to prove she’s still one of WWE’s top stars, or does her presence alone make her feel like a champion? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know.
