Rhea Ripley isn’t leaving anything to the imagination—and now she’s showing exactly why she ended up in the hospital.
After concerns started circulating when Buddy Matthews posted a photo of Ripley in a hospital bed following the April 6, 2026 episode of WWE RAW, Ripley has now revealed the real reason behind the visit—and it’s not minor.
Ripley suffered a nasty cut that required stitches—and she showed it. Taking to her Instagram story on April 8, Ripley warned fans before posting the image, making it clear what they were about to see wasn’t for everyone: “What an eventful day. If you have a weak stomach or don’t like injuries, don’t look at my next story.”
She then followed that up by sharing a graphic photo showing the injury itself, along with the medical treatment—confirming she needed stitches after the incident. She said, “Nice little detour to the emergency room for me today.”
The injury traces back to the chaotic RAW segment where Ripley tried to help Iyo Sky after being blindsided by Jade Cargill and attacked alongside Michin and B-Fab. While Ripley attempted to step in, she was held back and forced to watch as Sky was beaten down—before the situation escalated further.
Initially, the hospital photo posted by Buddy Matthews had Ripley appearing in good spirits, even flipping the middle finger with a “wasted” sticker added—making it seem less serious at first glance. But Ripley’s own update changes that completely. The graphic image confirms the damage was real—and significant enough to require emergency treatment.
Now, with WrestleMania 42 over a week away and tensions already high in the women’s division, Ripley’s condition becomes something to watch closely—especially depending on how quickly she recovers from the cut.

Do you think WWE should adjust plans if injuries like this start piling up before WrestleMania, or is this just part of the risk heading into a major event? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
