Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY are officially pressing pause on their tag team partnership — and it’s all about WrestleMania 42.

During the latest episode of WWE Raw, Ripley confirmed that she’s stepping away from the duo to focus entirely on her upcoming WWE Women’s Championship match against Jade Cargill.

In a backstage segment with Jackie Redmond, Ripley opened up about the whirlwind of the past few days. Fresh off her Elimination Chamber victory, she didn’t ignore the sting of losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on SmackDown.

She admitted the title loss “really sucks,” making it clear the defeat still weighed on her.

From there, the tone shifted. Ripley spoke emotionally about what SKY has meant to her — not just as a partner, but as a best friend. She said SKY has been everything from a rival to a teammate, and even credited her with helping pull her out of a very dark situation in her life. The two embraced on stage, turning what could’ve been a breakup segment into something far more personal.

SKY returned the love, praising Ripley’s Elimination Chamber performance and reminding the world why “Mami is always on top.” She assured Ripley she’d be fine holding it down as a singles competitor on Raw and encouraged her to go win the championship. Ripley didn’t hesitate. She vowed to capture the title at WrestleMania — and said she would do it for SKY. She also revealed her immediate plans: heading to SmackDown this Friday to confront Jade Cargill face-to-face.

That confrontation is coming on the heels of a heated social media exchange between the two. Over the weekend, Ripley and Cargill traded personal shots online. Ripley resurfaced an old clip of Cargill calling her a “dream opponent.” Cargill brushed it off and accused Ripley of spending hours backstage with WWE creative.

Ripley escalated matters by posting a message on Instagram Stories making it clear the tension isn’t playful. She stated the two are not friends and warned Cargill not to “defame her real human character by breaking the fourth wall.”

Now, with the tag team on hold and emotions clearly running high, Ripley is shifting all of her energy toward one goal — walking out of WrestleMania 42 as the new Women’s Champion.

Was this the right move for Ripley ahead of her biggest match of the year, or should she have kept the tag team momentum alive? Drop your thoughts below.
