Rey Mysterio, who recently competed in the men’s Royal Rumble match two weeks ago for WWE, issued a challenge to Jushin Thunder Liger for the upcoming Strong Style Evolved event. Mysterio and Liger previously had a match against each other back at the 1996 WCW Starrcade event.

For those that are wondering, Mysterio is not under contract with WWE and his appearance at the Royal Rumble was only a one-time deal. There is a chance that he could return to WWE but it now appears that with the announcement of him working the NJPW event that it won’t be anytime in the foreseeable future.
