Rey Fenix, a prominent wrestling talent, is set to miss an upcoming indie event due to an ongoing injury concern. Fenix was originally scheduled to participate in a match at Prestige Wrestling’s event next month but will be unable to do so due to his injury.

Prestige Wrestling recently made the announcement that Rey Fenix won’t be able to compete on January 5 at Roseland due to his injury. His scheduled opponent, Samuray Del Sol, will now face a replacement in the form of Lio Rush.

Fenix has been dealing with this nagging injury for an extended period and has been out of action for several months. The injury was reportedly sustained during a four-way tag team match at AEW WrestleDream in Seattle. In that match, Fenix was thrown into the barricades, and ringside doctors attended to him before he was taken backstage.

One of Fenix’s last notable matches before his sidelining was on the October 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he lost the AEW International Championship to Orange Cassidy. This marked the end of his 20-day reign as champion.
