Registered sex offender Chasyn Rance has stirred controversy with a public tribute to Hulk Hogan that dismisses the wrestling legend’s history of racist remarks.

In a video posted by Team Vision Dojo, Rance reflected on Hogan’s passing, calling it a tough weekend and crediting Hogan for his influence on the wrestling industry. He praised Hogan as a kind and active figure in the business while downplaying his past controversies.

“This has been a rough weekend. We lost the immortal Hulk Hogan, and he’s someone that, if not for him, we wouldn’t be here today. He was still doing it, still staying active, and always such a nice guy. What a great person. While he might’ve done and said a couple of stupid things — but haven’t we all?”

Rance has been on Florida’s Sex Offender Registry since 2014 following a 2011 conviction for unlawful sexual activity with a minor between the ages of 12 and 15. He was arrested again on April 2, 2025, for multiple violations of his offender registration, including failing to report a vehicle ownership change, omitting online usernames, and providing false information on three separate counts.

While some in the wrestling world have remembered Hogan with a balance of respect and accountability, Rance’s attempt to brush off Hogan’s racist past as merely “stupid things” people say hasn’t landed well. The timing and tone of his comments—especially given his own criminal background—have added to the unease around the video.
