RVD excited a lot of fans when he made a few appearances on WWE television, especially during the special show at the ECW Arena. However, he never wrestled on the show and that disappointed fans and now the reason behind him not wrestling has been revealed.

While speaking to CovalentTV, Sabu talked about his relationship with RVD and noted that he speaks to RVD every day now. According to Sabu, RVD was dealing with an injury, which prevented him from competing during his appearance on the November 6 episode of NXT at the legendary 2300 Arena.

“Rob Van Dam. I still talk to him almost every day now. I talked to him every day for the last two weeks. Ever since he did the arena show on ‘NXT.’ He was hurt so he couldn’t wrestle.”

During the NXT ECW tribute episode, RVD had a short interaction with Kelani Jordan before being attacked by Wes Lee. Despite his injury, RVD remained involved in the storyline. He later helped Je’Von Evans pick up a win over Wes Lee in a match, making it clear he was planting seeds for a future appearance since he was clearly not done with Wes Lee.

RVD and Kelani Jordan would have a wholesome moment during the show as well, but we will have to wait and see whether the WWE Hall of Famer will make his NXT television return and actually compete in a match this time around, as fans just want to see him show off his epic in-ring skills.
