Reason Why The New Day Attacked Rey Mysterio on WWE Raw

The New Day aren’t sorry for what they did to Rey Mysterio—in fact, they think everyone should be thanking them.

After Mysterio kicked Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods out of the locker room, the duo snapped, launching a vicious attack on the Hall of Famer during the February 10 episode of WWE Raw. A week later, they hit the ring to explain why they took out the Lucha legend, and they made it clear they don’t regret a thing.

Kingston wasted no time throwing shade at Mysterio, reminding everyone that he’s been in WWE longer and has more title reigns than Rey. “I never left. Unlike Rey.” He then doubled down by saying he—not Mysterio—should be the real locker room leader.

Woods took it even further, telling the audience that things “could have been a lot worse” for Mysterio. He claimed The New Day actually showed him mercy and that fans should be grateful they didn’t put him down “Old Yeller style.” Instead, they “did Rey a favor” by giving him some “vacation days” to spend with his wife.

But The LWO wasn’t buying it. Dragon Lee, Cruz Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde stormed the ring looking for payback, forcing The New Day to retreat after a brief brawl.

With tensions at an all-time high, this feud is just getting started, and Mysterio won’t be sitting on the sidelines for long.
