TNA Wrestling is officially pulling back on one of its longest-standing practices: blading and excessive blood. While fans are used to seeing crimson-soaked matches across the company’s history, a new internal edict is putting a stop to the bloodbaths—and now, the reason behind the change has been revealed.

According to Jon Alba, this isn’t just about safety—it’s about business. “This should be a pretty strong indicator that #TNA is heavily shopping its programming right now,” Alba wrote on Twitter. “I was told earlier this week by multiple sources that there were up to five platforms the company was talking with, including streaming options.”

The decision to eliminate blading and intentional heavy bleeding comes as TNA reportedly courts new distribution partners. While nothing is confirmed yet, sources say the promotion is in active talks with multiple platforms, including potential streaming services, to expand or relocate their programming.

It’s worth noting that accidental blood—like a busted nose or an unintentional cut—will still be permitted. This means TNA isn’t going completely PG, but it is trying to present a more polished product to potential network partners.

With this shift, TNA seems to be aiming for long-term visibility over short-term shock value. Whether the blood ban will pay off in the form of a new streaming or TV deal remains to be seen—but the message is clear: TNA wants a bigger stage.
