Danhausen’s absence from AEW television really puzzled fans, since they feel he deserves better. He remained off TV for most of 2024 until making an appearance at ROH Final Battle but that was the last time fans saw him and now the reason behind his absence has been revealed.

While speaking during a Q&A session, Sean Ross Sapp was asked why Danhausen, despite being popular and selling merchandise, hasn’t been featured much in AEW creative plans.

Sapp explained that AEW took issue with some miscommunication last year related to Danhausen’s availability, due to a private family matter. Sapp added that AEW misread the situation when he began taking indie bookings, but Sapp confirmed that Danhausen is still well-liked within the company.

“There was a thing last year where I knew they took issue with some miscommunication regarding his availability—or preferred availability. He had a family situation that I’m not going to get into, and then they were like, ‘Oh, but look—now he’s taking indies and all that. It was a miscommunication. He is well-liked there’”

As reported earlier, Danhausen’s AEW contract is set to expire in July this year and there is no indication they will re-sign him. Fans are now wondering if Danhausen still remain part of the AEW family or if he’ll go elsewhere.

While Danhausen is still a fan favorite and well-liked behind the scenes, his contract situation is up in the air. Whether he stays with AEW or moves on, fans are excited to see what’s next for the “Very Nice, Very Evil” star.

Should AEW give Danhausen more TV time, or would he be better off in another promotion?
