Fans have been wondering where Otis has been after his sudden absence from WWE television—and now the mystery is finally cleared up.

According to Fightful Select, the Alpha Academy star has been dealing with an injury that required surgery. While speaking with sources close to Otis, it was confirmed that the fan-favorite recently underwent arthroscopic elbow surgery to figure out exactly what’s been ailing him.

“We have an update on an absent WWE talent. Otis hasn’t wrestled in nearly two months, last competing on the May 5 episode of WWE Raw, where he lost to Rusev. However, word emerged recently that he was injured and off the active roster when WrestleVotes reported his status this week.”

“Sources close to Otis who claimed that he was undergoing elbow surgery in the form of arthroscopic to see what was ailing him. As things stand, he wasn’t expected to miss too much time, but as is the case with injuries, that can change very quickly.”

Otis was last seen on the May 5 edition of Monday Night Raw, where Rusev completely dominated him in a one-sided match that effectively wrote him off television.

There’s no confirmed timetable for his return yet, but the early word is that the surgery wasn’t expected to sideline him long—though, as always, that depends on how recovery goes.

Fans have been vocal about missing the Alpha Academy powerhouse, so it’ll be interesting to see if he targets Rusev upon his return.
