Kevin Nash isn’t sugarcoating it—he thinks Roman Reigns verbally smoked CM Punk during their recent face-off on Raw, and he’s naming names over real heat behind the scenes.
Speaking on Kliq This, Nash praised WWE’s decision to book Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk for WrestleMania 42 and called their segment the only thing that mattered on Raw.
“To be honest, it was the reason to watch Raw Monday night. That was the best thing on the show,” Nash said.
He then broke down the key moment when Roman Reigns tore into Punk and reminded the world why he walked away from WWE for a decade. Nash didn’t see that as scripted filler. He saw a truth bomb with real emotion behind it.
“Did you watch Monday? You see Roman get up in his face, and when he told him that he hated him—that s** was real.”*
“When Roman said to him basically, yeah, you took your ball and went home for ten f**ing years—done. Nothing you can say.”*
But the segment didn’t just bring back memories for fans—it took Nash backstage to a very real moment from the past. He revealed that at one point, CM Punk went off-script and said something Triple H took personally—so much so that Triple H pulled rank.
“Paul came back and basically said, ‘You’re not wrestling Punk. I am. I’m beating that motherf**er.’”*
According to Nash, that moment showed how deep the real tension between Punk and WWE’s power players went. But it’s that same friction that now fuels the biggest WrestleMania main event WWE’s had in years.
“People don’t understand—you can have that kind of heat with somebody ten years ago… but when you gotta make money together, that s** dissolves real fast.”*
Nash gave the Roman vs. Punk match an “A” grade and said the story writes itself.
“Out of the box, it’s a home run. It writes itself. That’s why it works. People believe there’s real heat there.”
The road to WrestleMania 42 just got personal, and Kevin Nash thinks that’s exactly what will make it work. This isn’t just a match. This is bad blood that finally made it to primetime.
