ECW legend Raven just flipped the script on traditional relationships—revealing that divorcing his wife was the best thing they ever did for their love life.
During an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, the wrestling icon opened up about his unique bond with his former wife, who he now refers to as his “life partner.” According to Raven, the couple chose to legally split in order to preserve their friendship—and surprisingly, it worked better than either of them expected.
“Let me make a distinction — she’s my life partner. We were married, we got divorced to save the friendship, and then we became closer. We keep getting closer all the time, so it’s great. But we’re no longer married; we’re just life partners.”
Despite the divorce, the two never truly parted ways. Raven revealed that they still live together and have remained emotionally inseparable.
“We do live together, that’s the thing. We were married for about seven or eight years, I guess. We’ve been divorced ever since, but we never really stopped being together.”
The decision to end the marriage wasn’t about falling out of love—it was about saving what mattered most: their deep friendship. Raven explained that the dynamic of being married started to strain the relationship, so they hit reset.
“We basically got divorced to save the friendship because the marriage was starting to ruin it. I married my best friend, you know what I mean? It’s the reason I stay with her — I don’t want to be with anyone else. There’s no one I love more on this planet.”
And if you thought this love story was over, think again. Raven admitted he’s planning to put a ring on it—again.
“I’m lucky that I got to marry my best friend, divorce my best friend, and become even closer friends. Yeah, I do have intentions of marrying her again, probably this year.”
Raven’s story isn’t your average wrestling drama. It’s a rare and raw look at how love, friendship, and honesty can rewrite the rules. Whether or not the second wedding happens this year, it’s clear these two never stopped being each other’s person.
