WWE SmackDown’s March 27 episode went down in the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We are only a couple of weeks away from WrestleMania, and things are heating up in the Undisputed World Title picture.
Randy Orton beat Matt Cardona in brutal fashion in the main event match of SmackDown this week. However, he didn’t get to celebrate for long.
Cody Rhodes showed up in his bus and came out without the title around his waist. He wanted a fight, and he ignored WWE officials as he jumped in the ring.
It didn’t take long before Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes were slugging it out in the middle of the ring. The action spilled to ringside, where the two tore each other apart. Security tried to separate them, but it didn’t work. Then Orton took a right hand from Cody Rhodes.
Security tried their best to split Orton and Rhodes up, but the former friends kept finding their way back to each other. Finally, Orton walked away as Cody rushed him. A few guards were thrown around in the process, and then they got in the ring. Nick Aldis joined security as the two Superstars were pulled apart to opposite corners.
Cody got free and had a few shots, and then Orton got loose and took a couple shots. Then Orton finally left the ring, and Nick Aldis followed him. Orton threw some officials and security guards around, and then Cody Rhodes got Orton on the announce table, where he pummelled him. This was a chaotic scene and it was made worse by the fast that Cody and Randy were able to get their hands on each other several times.
Then Jelly Roll entered the ring. He’s friends with both Orton and Rhodes, so he came out to talk. Suddenly, Orton nailed Jelly Roll with an RKO and got out of the ring. The night ended with Jelly Roll out cold on the canvas as everyone checked on him. Orton looked very pleased with what he did.
