Rampage Jackson won’t be in the corner of Team USA this weekend—and he’s not happy about it.
The former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion was originally slated to serve as one of the coaches for Team USA in TNA Wrestling’s Border Brawl event, airing live Sunday via streaming partner Zone·ify. But just as the international showdown drew closer, Rampage dropped a video revealing that he was denied entry into Canada.
“This U.S. vs. Canada trade war is really heating up,” Jackson said. “They won’t let me across the border to coach Team USA vs. Canada in the Zone·ify Border Brawl. So I’ma be watching it live on Zone·ify, Sunday, 5 PM. Be cheering on Team USA to kick Canada’s ass. Next time I come to this border, y’all better let me cross.”
Despite being forced to the sidelines, Rampage urged fans to still tune in and show their support for Team USA.
“Let’s go Team USA, and all y’all from the U.S. better be watching this too on Zone·ify. 5 PM Eastern. Tune in, stand up, rep your country.”
Border Brawl is shaping up to be a heated card with stars from both sides of the border clashing. Matches include Matt Hardy vs. Eric Young, a flag match between Nic Nemeth and Santino Marella, and a rare appearance from Tessa Blanchard as she takes on Jody Threat.
Rampage or not, this show is still loaded.
