Mike Calta, the Florida radio host who leaked Hulk Hogan’s sex tape, isn’t shedding any tears over the wrestling icon’s death—and he made that clear on a recent episode of The Mike Calta Show.
Speaking bluntly, Calta reacted to Hogan’s passing by referencing the racist remarks Hogan made that led to his temporary exile from WWE years ago. Calta acknowledged a meme circulating online that reminded people of what Hogan actually said—and insisted it wasn’t just an offhand comment.
“One of the other things going around the internet was a meme of the racist stuff he said — and yeah, it was pretty bad. I mean, it wasn’t just something like, ‘I hope my daughter doesn’t date a Black guy.’ It was full-on n-word stuff. It’s easy for us to forget because we’re white, but if I were Black? Yeah, I’d remember. Everyone was quick to forgive him, and Titus was like, ‘Not so fast. I don’t know, I’ve gotta talk to him first.’”
Calta admitted to feeling conflicted, describing his reaction to Hogan’s death as indifferent at best.
“I had mixed feelings. I was kind of sad, but not really. I don’t know how I feel about that guy. I know too much about him, and I don’t want to ruin his image. I’m not going to say, ‘Oh, he was a bad guy,’ but he wasn’t exactly a great guy either. I just have too much history and too many personal experiences with him. We weren’t friends, but we were acquaintances, and we were around each other for years. And there’s just enough stuff where I’m like, ‘Eh, who cares?’”
Calta’s involvement in the leak of Hogan’s sex tape is well-documented. According to TikTok user Rasslemanueh, Calta and Matt “Spiceboy” Lloyd took the DVD from Bubba the Love Sponge’s office and passed it along to Gawker and the National Enquirer. That chain of events led to Bubba losing his job—while Calta ended up landing the morning slot on 102.5 The Bone in Tampa.
Despite being named in Hogan’s second lawsuit (after Hogan sued Gawker), Calta faced no personal consequences. Cox Media paid millions to settle the case, and Calta kept his job without any formal punishment.
Whether or not fans agree with Calta’s stance, his comments leave little doubt: he’s not looking back or feeling guilty.
