As R-Truth gears up to be featured in the new season of WWE: Unreal on Netflix, the beloved veteran is already thinking about how his career might come to a close—and he has one name in mind for that final moment: The Miz.

In a new interview with TV Insider’s Scott Fishman, R-Truth opened up about watching John Cena’s planned retirement unfold and how it sparked him to think about his own ending.

“Watching Cena’s endgame gave me ideas about mine. I want to articulate mine creatively… I learned from his retirement that I want mine to go. We’re all on a ride. The ride stops at some point, and it was great seeing him have some control and go, ‘I want to get off right now.’ That’s what I want to do.”

He also spoke about the moment he cut his hair on WWE Raw—a move many fans didn’t fully understand at the time. Truth explained that it was deeply symbolic for him:

“The cutting of my hair was symbolizing a new beginning of the beginning… I had the right moment. I had the right eye. I had the world compelled. Tupac, ‘All Eyez on Me.’ It was the right time to set the pace for a new beginning.”

But it’s who he wants to end his journey with that really turned heads. Without hesitation, Truth named The Miz as his ideal final opponent.

“The Miz is who I’d want to face in my final match. I have a story with The Miz. I have an outside-the-ring story with The Miz. I have a relatable story with The Miz. The history… He is so underrated. The things I could do with him. I will have that with The Miz.”

R-Truth and The Miz have shared years of on-screen chemistry—from feuds to friendships—but Truth clearly sees something deeper in that connection. As he sets the tone for the next chapter of his career, it sounds like the final page might be written with The Miz standing across the ring.

Would you be down for R-Truth vs. The Miz as his retirement match? Or is there someone else you’d rather see him face one last time? Let us know your thoughts below.
