R-Truth has always considered John Cena to be his “Childhood hero” and ever since Cena turned heel, fans have been wondering if Truth will ever face Cena in a match. With that in mind, Truth has finally addressed whether he’s ever going to wrestle John Cena.

While speaking on Chris Van Vliet, R-Truth was asked about squaring off against John Cena now that he is a heel. R-Truth said it would only happen if the timing and circumstances were just right.

Truth pointed out that he’s not the same as he used to be; he’s a good guy now, kisses babies, and doesn’t fight dirty. So for that match to happen, things would have to change in a big way.

Truth admitted he’d be excited for the match but isn’t confident it would actually happen, especially considering Cena’s recent behavior. Truth questioned whether Cena would even pay attention to him and said that while he tries to be the voice of reason, he’s mostly been staying out of the drama.

“A match between me and John Cena? Only way we can see that though, dog, it’s gotta be the right way, you know? The old me—I’m not a bad guy, I’m a good guy now. I kiss the babies, I hug people, I don’t kick people in the gonads. So for that to happen, it would have to be a complete turnaround, man. I don’t know, man. I would love it, but I don’t know… man, he did some wrong stuff. How you even know he’s gonna listen to me? I try to be the voice of reason, but I don’t know. I’ve been staying out of the mix.”

So far, R-Truth has been supporting John Cena ahead of his match against Randy Orton at the Backlash Premium Live Event. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see if Truth and Cena will eventually duke it out, as fans feel it will end up in a massive heartbreak if it happens.
