R-Truth may be known for his comedy, charisma, and longevity—but behind the laughs is a career filled with serious injuries.

In a new interview with The Breakfast Club on January 21, 2026, the 54-year-old fan favorite opened up about just how much damage he’s endured during his decades in the business—and it’s more than most ever knew.

“I done been injured, but knock on wood, I’ve lived and had a great career, man,” R-Truth said. “You know—neck injuries, both shoulders, ribs, chest, sternum, hip, patella tendon, quad.”

That last one, the quad tear, put him on the shelf during an NXT match in November 2022—but Truth revealed that was just one of many physical setbacks he’s faced. When asked about his recovery process, the former 24/7 Champion didn’t sugarcoat it.

“Get your ass in rehabilitation. Rehab works. Rehab works,” he said. “And just—I never stopped working out since high school. I still stretch. I can still do a jump up and split right there.”

Despite the long list of injuries, R-Truth credits his continued mobility to discipline and body maintenance, making it clear at his age, he can still do backflips, among other things.

“I don’t mess around with my body health, my mobility, being able to move,” he added. “That’s why, you know what I’m saying, at 54 I can still do backflips, all that. You know what I’m saying? You’ve got to stay tight with it.”

Still wrestling on WWE TV in 2026 and regularly performing athletic feats that wrestlers half his age can’t pull off, R-Truth continues to prove why he’s one of the most underrated workhorses in the business.

From neck damage to torn quads, R-Truth has survived nearly every major injury a wrestler can face—but his dedication to rehab and fitness has kept him active and flipping into his mid-50s. It’s not just comedy that keeps him going—it’s consistency.

What do you think of R-Truth’s longevity in WWE? Should he get one final big run before retiring, or is he already a legend in your eyes? Drop your thoughts below.
