R-Truth just revealed one of the wildest fines in WWE history—and how he got away with not paying a cent.

During his appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the longtime WWE star opened up about a 2011 segment on Monday Night RAW in the UK where he lit up a cigarette and blew smoke in John Morrison’s face after an attack. The segment made headlines at the time because public smoking was banned in the UK back in 2007, making the act not just controversial—but illegal.

According to R-Truth, the entire thing was Vince McMahon’s idea. “Vince had caught me smoking, for real. So he’s like, ‘You gonna smoke in front of the whole [arena],’ and it was illegal. You can’t do that over there [because you’re in an arena], you can’t do that,” he explained.

That little act of rebellion earned him a $20,000 fine. But when asked if he actually paid it, Truth didn’t hesitate. “Hell no! I had paying potential, but no!” he said.

The fine may have been real, but R-Truth made it clear he wasn’t about to fork over the cash—despite having the means to do so.

What do you think about R-Truth refusing to pay the fine? Was it a classic case of WWE chaos, or just a bad call that got out of hand? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
