The biopic Queen of the Ring, which tells the story of wrestling pioneer Mildred Burke, is making waves with more than just its storyline.

The film, starring Kamille, Toni Storm, and Naomi, is now available on-demand after a limited theatrical release, but it’s the film’s official Twitter account that’s turning heads with some serious allegations against WWE.

Promoting the movie’s streaming release, the official account tweeted, “The movie the WWE doesn’t want you to see. Based on a true story 🤼‍♀️ certified fresh 🍅 by critics and audiences 🍿 – See QUEEN OF THE RING tonight at home on Apple, Amazon or Fandango.”

One follower responded, “Saw it, enjoyed it. No idea why WWE wouldn’t want to have seen it. Click bait.”

That’s when the Queen of the Ring account dropped another response: “You should ask them why they tried to block us from running TV ads during Raw (illegal), why they asked us to sponsor their events, we agreed to the financial deal then they pulled us out last minute… this is just a glimpse into the sabotaging behavior… perhaps we will expand on the intel.”

The accusations are raising eyebrows, with the film’s team claiming WWE actively tried to prevent them from running ads during Monday Night Raw and even reneged on a sponsorship agreement after they agreed to the financial terms.

Neither WWE nor its representatives have responded to the allegations, but the drama surrounding the film’s release has fans talking about what else might come to light.

Do you believe the claims against WWE, or is this just a publicity stunt to boost the movie? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
