Queen Aminata is on the shelf again—and this time, it’s a neck injury that forced AEW to pull her from one of its most violent matches.
Speaking on her personal vlog, The African Queen gave fans an update after she was medically disqualified from competing at Blood & Guts. Aminata revealed that her neck became so tight she could barely move it, which led AEW’s doctors to make the call.
“I was not cleared because my neck is so tight I cannot—now I can’t even move a little bit. And because of that, I got taken out of the match today, and that resulted in me being taken out of Blood & Guts. But you know what? I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Safety comes first. I’d rather be out for two to three weeks than be out for six months.”
The neck injury follows a recent knee issue that had already slowed her momentum. But Aminata isn’t letting the setbacks define her. She’s laser-focused on recovery—and already making changes to ensure a strong return.
“Every single time I get hurt and I’m possibly staying home, I change my diet right away… The moment I change my diet, I don’t make being hurt the priority anymore. My priority now is to make sure I recover and I recover better than I was prior to injury.”
The injury might only keep Aminata out for a couple of weeks, but it’s clear she’s not taking any chances. With AEW continuing to grow its women’s division, the timing couldn’t be worse—but Queen Aminata’s mindset shows she’s not going anywhere. Once cleared, she’s ready to remind the world exactly who she is.
Do you think AEW will have a big spot waiting for Queen Aminata when she returns? Or will this injury slow her rise? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
