Queen Aminata is still sidelined with a neck injury, but AEW has made it clear they’re not giving up on The African Queen anytime soon.

In a vlog uploaded on January 13, 2026, Aminata delivered an emotional update—revealing that AEW has officially extended her contract despite her current inability to wrestle.

“On top of all the great news and great feelings, AEW also extended my beautiful, juicy contract until February 2027,” she announced. “Bro, what can I say at this point? I’m happy. Even though my neck is messed up right now and I can’t wrestle, I am very happy and very, very motivated. I can’t wait to go back.”

Aminata has been out of action since November 2025, when a serious neck injury forced her out of the brutal Blood & Guts match. She later shared on her vlog that the injury left her neck so tight she “couldn’t even move a little bit.”

AEW President Tony Khan later pulled her from the ROH Women’s Pure Title tournament on December 4, handing Deonna Purrazzo a forfeit win. All of this came after she had only just returned from a prior knee injury.

While there’s still no clear timetable for her in-ring return, Aminata’s contract extension is a sign of faith from AEW—and a reminder that her story isn’t finished yet.
