Penelope Ford may be sidelined longer than originally expected after suffering an injury during a recent match in All Elite Wrestling.

The update came from Tony Khan in a video posted to X ahead of AEW Collision. While discussing a newly announced tag team match featuring Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa against Megan Bayne and Lena Kross, Khan also addressed Ford’s current condition. During the update, Khan explained that Ford could be out for a significant period of time due to the injury.

“It looks like, unfortunately, will be out with an injury maybe for weeks, but possibly even up to months.”

According to prior reports, Ford suffered an ankle sprain during a February 25 episode of AEW Dynamite. The injury happened during a tag team match where Ford and Bayne faced Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron for the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Ford was injured after performing a moonsault and landing awkwardly on her feet, which forced AEW officials to quickly change the planned finish of the match. The bout ultimately ended in a disqualification when Lena Kross interfered.

With Ford now facing a potentially extended absence, AEW’s plans for the women’s division may need to shift while she recovers from the ankle injury.
