WWE already has six marquee matches set for its first-ever two-night SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium, but there could still be more on the way.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Garrett Gonzales discussed what matches could still be added—and what that means for WWE’s top stars.

The card already features confirmed bouts like John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes, CM Punk vs. Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title, and Rhea Ripley vs. Naomi vs. IYO SKY. But Meltzer pointed out that while the major names are locked in, there’s still room for additional matches—just not necessarily anything bigger.

“Almost all the time, like if you think about the top guys—the money guys—you know, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, John Cena—we already got their matches. You know, when Roman—we don’t know if it’s a singles or a tag—but we basically know the match. So, you know, there’s not going to be anything bigger. We got Rhea’s match, you know…”

From there, Meltzer and Gonzales speculated on what else could round out the card. One possibility? A match involving Jacob Fatu—either against Solo Sikoa or Tama Tonga.

“Whatever Jacob does, maybe Jacob and Solo again.”

“I think Jacob and Solo, sure. Or maybe Jacob and Tama Tonga,” Gonzales added.

Another name Meltzer thinks WWE will find a spot for is Charlotte Flair. He mentioned she could appear in a Women’s Tag Team Title match alongside Alexa Bliss.

“Charlotte Flair obviously is going to be in a big match. So that all makes sense,” Meltzer said.

They also brought up AJ Styles vs. Dominik Mysterio as another likely matchup, but not one Meltzer considered a blockbuster.

“I’m guessing AJ versus Dom. That’s not necessarily, I think, a big match, but…”

Meltzer concluded that while WWE has already locked in its top-tier matches, the company still has a couple of weeks left to fill out the card and give more talent their moment.

SummerSlam is shaping up to be massive across two nights, but the final pieces of the lineup are still falling into place. With rumors swirling and room on the show, some big names could still find their way onto the card.
