WWE may not be done adding matches to WrestleMania just yet, as Iyo Sky vs Asuka is currently being lined up as the likely final addition to the card.
Plans for the show are close to being locked in, but one last spot is still being discussed. Right now, Iyo Sky and Asuka are the names tied to that final position, which would round out the full WrestleMania lineup if it becomes official.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about the situation and made it clear that the match is being strongly considered, even if it hasn’t been officially announced yet.
“Iyo sky and Asuka is probable from what I'm told there's. There's gonna be 14 total matches. Seven on each night. I think last year it was six on each night last year.”
That statement placed Iyo Sky vs Asuka directly in the mix as the bout expected to fill the final open spot on the WrestleMania card. Meltzer also explained that the match is currently positioned as the last one planned for the event, though it’s not fully confirmed at this time.
“But, but it's, it's. They're adding a match. I think it was going to be six and they're adding to seven because they're going an hour earlier. And Oscar and IO sky, from what I understand is right now match number 14 out of 14. So it's not like it's not like 100%, but it's probable.”
If WWE moves forward with the plan, Iyo Sky vs Asuka would close out the WrestleMania lineup as the final match added to the show. Both stars have deep resumes in WWE, and putting them in that last open slot would give the event another major women’s match before everything is finalized.
WrestleMania cards are known to change right up until the final days, but right now, Iyo Sky vs Asuka looks like the match sitting in that final position. If this match does get locked in, it would officially complete the WrestleMania card and add one more high-profile showdown to the weekend.
