Many fans believe that several wrestling figures deserve a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame, and Jim Cornette is one of them. With WWE already announcing some of the 2025 inductees, quite a few people wonder whether Cornette might just come back to WWE. In light of such speculation, the possibility of Cornette making his WWE return has been revealed.
According to a report by Fightful Select, it was stated that WWE has not discussed bringing him back in recent years. However, this isn’t a sign that the company is against it but rather, they believe Cornette is happy and successful with his current projects.
This is because Jim Cornette currently hosts two popular podcasts, The Drive-Thru and The Experience, where he reviews WWE and AEW shows and discusses industry news and often gets tons of views and engagement.
Jim Cornette became a well-known and controversial name in wrestling because of his harsh opinions. He started working with WWE in 1993 as a manager for wrestlers like Yokozuna, Vader, and The British Bulldog and also helped with creative ideas. Coming from Smoky Mountain Wrestling, he preferred a more traditional wrestling style, but he often disagreed with WWE’s move toward entertainment-focused shows and this ultimately led to issues with Vince McMahon.
Eventually, Cornette worked in WWE’s training system OVW, where he helped develop future stars like John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and Randy Orton. However, he had problems with management and he left the company back in the mid-2000s. In fact, his last WWE appearance was in 2017 when he introduced The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express into the Hall of Fame.
Bruce Prichard also previously stated that Jim Cornette more than deserves to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, saying, “I love Jim. I think Jim’s very deserving of being in the Hall of Fame, and I hope one day that he is.” Therefore, while there isn’t any guarantee Cornette will return to WWE in the future, fans are still hopeful it will happen somewhere down the line no matter what.
