Jeff Hardy has been dealing with two bulging discs in his neck for months—but now, he’s sharing some much-needed optimism about his recovery.

Speaking during an interview with Chris Van Vliet on January 29, 2026, Jeff Hardy gave fans a clear and hopeful status report on his condition. After weeks of rehab and pain management, Hardy revealed that things are looking up—even if the journey hasn’t been perfect.

“It’s better. This past Monday and Tuesday it felt really good. Then we flew out here and I fell asleep a little funky on the plane, and I remember jerking my head up one time. It was hurting a little more than it did Monday and Tuesday, but overall it’s feeling good. It’s definitely better.”

Hardy said he’s been working through the injury for over three months, describing the pain level as manageable but persistent.

“It’s been a little over three months that I’ve been dealing with two bulging discs on the left side of my neck, and I’m feeling much better. On a scale of one to ten, I’d say maybe a five—not bad at all. My five is different from a normal person’s five.”

When TNA on AMC launched on January 15, Jeff Hardy admitted he wasn’t at 100%, and it weighed on him mentally, but now he noted he’s finally starting to heal in a very positive way.

“Naturally, the debut on AMC was depressing because I was thinking, ‘Lord, please let me be better by the time January 15 rolls around for the AMC debut.’ I wasn’t 100 percent, but the second week on AMC I was much better, and I’m feeling excited because I feel like I’m finally starting to heal in a very positive way.”

He also recalled receiving the results of his MRI—where the options laid out were either surgery or a pain management plan, a moment that left him shaken. Fortunately, Hardy now feels he’s regained control of his body and outlook.

“I got the call after the MRI and was told the options were a neurosurgeon or a pain management plan. That was scary because I thought that might be the beginning of the end of my career. Now I’m back at the point where I’ve kind of rebuilt my armor. I feel healed enough to get back in the cold water and hopefully avoid injuries going forward.”

This comes after Matt Hardy recently shared that Jeff was making slow but steady progress and trying to avoid surgery in favor of a more natural recovery. Now, Jeff’s own words confirm that momentum is finally going in the right direction.
