What was once teased as a Wrestlepalooza match now looks to be shifting to television. The rumored triple threat match between Tiffany Stratton, Nia Jax, and Jade Cargill is no longer expected to take place at WWE’s upcoming premium live event.
According BodySlam, the working plan is for the bout to happen on the September 26 episode of WWE SmackDown in Orlando instead.
The match had first gained attention after appearing on an event t-shirt in Indianapolis, sparking speculation that WWE was planning to feature it on the Wrestlepalooza card. However, Tiffany Stratton’s medical clearance has remained a major question mark since she was pulled from NXT Homecoming earlier this week.
NXT General Manager Ava revealed that Stratton was not cleared for action, but the specifics of her injury have yet to be disclosed. With her status in limbo, WWE has now moved the match off Wrestlepalooza altogether, aiming for a SmackDown main event slot instead.
If the plan sticks, fans in Orlando could be getting one of the biggest women’s matches on free TV in months.
