Peter Rosenberg didn’t hold back after hearing Goldberg complain about his WWE retirement match—and he’s letting the Hall of Famer have it.

In a video posted to his Twitter/X account, the WWE personality clapped back at Goldberg’s remarks about being unhappy with how his final match was handled. Goldberg had recently told Ariel Helwani that he wasn’t thrilled about ending his career at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta, and took issue with how WWE cut off his post-match promo. But Rosenberg wasn’t having any of it.

“I cannot believe the complaints about his send off. Have you guys ever noticed that the people who are the most overbooked, the most over celebrated are always the ones who complain?”

He slammed the idea that Goldberg should’ve been given more time or a different stage, noting the realities of live network TV.

“NBC goes when the show ends, every single time. They do not wait. NBC, this is network TV. It’s not USA, it’s not Netflix. It’s NBC. They go when they go.”

Rosenberg even questioned whether Goldberg’s sendoff was too generous considering the Hall of Famer’s track record in the ring.

“The man got a 15-minute match. It should have been a squash let’s be honest. He should have gotten Goldberg’ed. He should have been speared and taken out. The man’s pushing 60 years old, hasn’t looked good in the ring, some would say, ever, but certainly not in the last few years.”

He closed his rant by calling out Goldberg for being ungrateful.

“Did this guy get to stand in the ring on national television? Have a send off? You should be thanking your lucky stars for the money you’ve made and the appreciation you’ve gotten, which many don’t even feel is fully deserved. To complain, I’m so disappointed.”

Goldberg previously said that while he respected GUNTHER and was proud of the bout itself, he was frustrated over the lack of control he had during the sendoff. He told Helwani he wasn’t happy being cut off mid-promo and teased that more details would come out soon.

“They cut me off for freaking 20 seconds with the microphone in my hand, for God’s sakes… I got two weeks before I can really, you know, spill the beans and, you know, make my feelings kind of known about the entire rundown from the inception of the idea to its delivery. It was a little less than to be desired.”

Whether you agree with Goldberg or Rosenberg, this retirement is turning out to be a lot messier than anyone expected.
