Pete Dunne was already confirmed for GCW and Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV, but now his opponent has been revealed—and it’s none other than technical wrestling specialist Jonathan Gresham.
The match goes down August 2 in Rutherford, New Jersey, and will see the WWE star collide with the free agent in a setting that strips wrestling down to its rawest form—no ropes, no pinfalls, only knockouts or submissions.
This bout marks the first time Dunne and Gresham will meet since 2018, when they clashed in PROGRESS Wrestling. Since then, both have built entirely different legacies—Dunne with WWE, and Gresham through his work in ROH, Impact Wrestling, and across the independent scene. Gresham continues to make noise across the indies after departing from Impact Wrestling, while Dunne hasn’t wrestled since a WWE Main Event taping in May. Dunne’s opponent being revealed now sets the tone for what could be the match of the night in an event already stacked with intense matchups.
