Penta has officially pulled out of AAA’s Guerra de Titanes on December 20, crushing hopes of a full-blown Lucha Bros reunion with Rey Fenix. The decision is final, and it’s coming straight from the man himself.
In am Instagram video, Penta addressed fans directly and confirmed what many feared: he won’t be medically cleared in time to compete.
“Hello friends, Penta here, the SARM of Lucha Libre, and today I’m here to make an announcement to all of you.
"As you know, I suffered a shoulder injury a few weeks ago, and I truly have done everything possible—everything within my power, along with the doctors in both Mexico and the United States—to recover as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, from a medical standpoint, I am not cleared to return to the ring on December 20.”
Despite the setback, Penta won’t miss the event entirely. He told fans he’ll be in attendance at Guerra de Titanes, and he had a huge replacement announcement to go with the update.
“However, I will be there with all of you in person at this show, because it’s something I simply cannot miss. And I have great news for everyone and for all the fans attending this event.
The wrestler who will be taking my place is none other than the living legend, Rey Mysterio. It will be the first time my brother Rey Fénix and Rey Mysterio team together—something you absolutely cannot miss.”
But Penta didn’t stop there. He also sent a warning to one man in particular—Dominik Mysterio.
“And lastly, this message is for you, Dominik. This time, you got away with it. I don’t know what you did, but you escaped this time. But I’ll tell you this—remember it well—I will not let up until I take that Intercontinental Championship from you.
I’ll see you soon, Dominik. See you in Guadalajara.
And you already know… cero.”
Penta was originally injured during a November 24 episode of WWE RAW in a match against Solo Sikoa. A hurricanrana off the barricade went wrong, and the match was stopped immediately by officials. Since then, his return status has been closely monitored by both fans and doctors, but ultimately WWE refused to give clearance. Here’s the updated card for Guerra de Titanes:
While the dream tag team between Penta and Fenix is now on hold, Rey Mysterio stepping in creates a rare and exciting first-time pairing that fans can still look forward to. But with Penta vowing revenge on Dominik Mysterio, this story clearly isn’t over.
