PCO isn’t looking to burn any bridges—especially when it comes to WWE. After smashing the TNA Digital Media Championship with a sledgehammer at The People vs. GCW, the wrestling veteran has been making headlines. But while some speculated his dramatic exit was a message to WWE, PCO is setting the record straight.
Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, PCO made it clear that his past issues with The Kliq—the infamous backstage group led by Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall—are long behind him.
“The thing I wanted to make sure I clarified, I didn’t want people to think PCO was mad because he didn’t get along well with Shawn [Michaels] or Kevin [Nash],” PCO explained. “Me and Kev were buddies. I even put the clips from Kliq This when he said, ‘Me and Carl are buddies now,’ so people know.”
PCO also recalled a time in 2009 when Michaels personally helped him out with creative ideas. “Even Shawn, he helped me out in 2009. Laurinaitis wasn’t there, I handed [my ideas] to Shawn—he didn’t put it in the garbage can. He gave it to Vince back then.”
The former ROH World Champion also had nothing but praise for Triple H, reminiscing about when The Game first arrived in WWE.
“When he came from WCW, his first TV taping, he had no friends. I pushed my stuff to one side and said, ‘Buddy, you can have the seat beside me.’ We started talking, and his first three or four weeks in WWE, we rode together to a lot of shows. We joked and had a lot of fun.”
PCO acknowledged that tensions with Nash and Michaels might have worked against him in the past, but he believes it’s all “water under the bridge” now. More importantly, he insists that his belt-smashing moment in TNA had nothing to do with WWE.
“I certainly didn’t want me smashing the belt to hurt my reputation with WWE,” PCO clarified. “It was nothing against them. It was all towards me not pulling out when I should have pulled out. That’s very important.”
Now a free agent after his TNA deal expired, the wrestling world is watching to see where PCO lands next. Could WWE be on the table, or is he heading somewhere else?
