Paul Wight is back on headset—and back in the action.

The AEW giant returned to the commentary booth during the January 24, 2026 episode of AEW Collision, joining Excalibur and Tony Schiavone to call the night’s matches. While Wight has been largely absent from in-ring competition, he continues to contribute on-air when the opportunity arises.

His return marks his first non-PPV pre-show commentary appearance since AEW Battle of the Belts XI in July 2024. Prior to that, he was heard during the AEW Full Gear Tailgate Brawl, but has kept a relatively low profile since undergoing a minor back surgery in late 2025.

Wight previously worked commentary full-time for AEW Dark: Elevation and has filled in occasionally across AEW programming. Despite not wrestling since November 2023, Wight made it clear during a December 2025 update that he isn’t calling it quits just yet.

For now, fans can enjoy his veteran insight and dry wit from the commentary desk as AEW Collision continues to deliver week after week.
