Mr. Kennedy isn’t pulling punches—and now he’s pointing the finger at Paul Heyman for deliberately feeding false information to the wrestling media.

During an episode of the Mic Check podcast, Kennedy revealed that while working in OVW under Heyman’s direction, the former ECW mastermind would allegedly manipulate online wrestling coverage by sending out multiple fake reports after each show.

“I wonder how much stuff is fed by the company itself to media. Like Paul Heyman — when I was working for OVW and he first came down to start writing — he used to send out three different reports to the dirt sheets for every single show. He’d bury some people and make the reports sound different enough, mixing in real complaints he’d heard from others so it all felt legit. Nobody ever suspected anything.”

Kennedy made it clear that this type of manipulation wasn’t limited to OVW—it came from higher up the food chain and was often used to steer the narrative the company wanted fans to believe.

“This kind of information feed comes from the inside — right from the top. It’s all about creating a narrative. It’s like those moments when fans throw things in the ring, like chairs — that usually starts with a plant or a few people in the crowd who were told to kick it off.”

The comments opens discussion about how much of the wrestling news fans consume is actually planted or manipulated from within. Is it shady? Strategic? Or just business as usual?

Kennedy’s remarks offer a rare glimpse into the blurred line between reality and performance in pro wrestling—and how even dirt sheets might be part of the script.
