Pat McAfee didn’t waste any time responding to CM Punk after the Second City Saint’s scathing promo on WWE RAW—and he came in loud.

After reports surfaced that CM Punk went off script during his April 6, 2026 WWE RAW promo and took multiple shots—including calling McAfee “MAGAfee”—the ESPN personality and WWE commentator fired back on Twitter the very next morning. And instead of just clapping back at Punk, McAfee flipped the entire conversation toward Randy Orton.

"Good morning beautiful people.. Last night a Punk ass b***** explained that he is not worth the price of admission to #WrestleMania42 WE CAN ALL AGREE WITH THAT.. it’s kindof the whole thing I been sayin BUT.. I have GREAT news THE WRESTLING GODS have blessed us and @RandyOrton IS HERE TO SAVE YOU ALL WE’RE HAVING 🐐 CONVOS AROUND HERE -

Be a fan.. Tell a fan.. Let ‘em know.. The business needs us. The actual fans of wrestling need to come together and THANK 🗣 THE MAN WHO IS GONNA SAVE THE BUSINESS"

The response comes right after Punk’s RAW promo reportedly went off script, where he didn’t just target Roman Reigns but also took aim at McAfee, The Rock, Vince McMahon, and even TKO, including comments about ticket prices.

Now, McAfee has turned that moment into his own statement—framing Punk as someone not worth the hype while positioning Orton as the one carrying the business forward.

With WrestleMania 42 approaching and tensions already high, this back-and-forth just pulled another major name into the mix—and made things even more personal heading into the biggest show of the year.

Do you think Pat McAfee was right to fire back at CM Punk like this, or did he take it too far bringing Randy Orton into the conversation? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
