Ohio Valley Wrestling referee Dallas Edwards has provided a personal update following the frightening in-ring incident that halted the March 12, 2026 taping of OVW Rise in Louisville, Kentucky.

After the accident left fans and members of the wrestling community concerned, Edwards took to social media to address the situation directly and reveal the extent of his injuries. According to Edwards, doctors evaluated him after the incident and confirmed that he suffered both a concussion and a subdural hematoma, which is a type of brain bleed.

“Hey guys! I know everyone seems to know about the scary incident last night at OVW. I have been evaluated and I have a concussion as well as a subdural hematoma (brain bleed).”

Despite the seriousness of the injury, Edwards said he has decided to take time away from wrestling in order to focus on recovering and regaining his health.

“With that being said, I have made the decision to take some needed time away to get my life and health back in good spirits.”

Edwards also addressed the outpouring of support he has received since the incident, explaining that while he appreciates the concern, he is financially stable and does not need donations.

“I appreciate all of the support everyone has been offering but as far as money goes, I am grateful to be in a position that I can manage an accident like this.”

Instead, Edwards encouraged fellow wrestlers and industry professionals to focus on improving safety awareness and emergency response training within the wrestling business.

“In lieu of donations, I instead implore all of my fellow workers to get some sort of training in assisting another’s life.”

“Being in the position before, it’s very important to be educated in all scenarios relating to injury, illness, or condition in the ring, especially when we’re performing.”

He also made it clear that he does not blame anyone involved in the incident and is simply focused on recovering.

“I am not mad at anyone or anything other than the situation as a whole.”

Edwards added that he had been under observation in the hospital following the accident and was awaiting additional testing to determine when he could return home.

“As far as updates go, I am getting a CT scan in the morning and if that goes well, I’ll be home.”

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out or stopped by, it means more than any of you know. Love, Dally.”

The incident occurred during the main event of the OVW Rise broadcast when Edwards was struck during a diving move and appeared to lose consciousness in the ring, prompting the show to be stopped.
