Fans are going after Triple H in a big way— and it all started the moment Sami Zayn walked out of SmackDown still holding the United States Championship.

The April 3, 2026 episode of Friday Night SmackDown saw Sami Zayn successfully retain the United States Championship, a result that immediately led to negative reactions online — especially because it appears to shut the door on Carmelo Hayes being part of WrestleMania 42.

Within minutes of the result, fans flooded Twitter, with many questioning why Hayes — who had been heavily involved in the title picture— is now seemingly off the biggest show of the year: “We’re really gonna leave Carmelo Hayes off of WrestleMania?
What a joke man”

The frustration didn’t stop there. A number of fans shifted their focus toward WWE’s creative direction, with Triple H becoming a direct target of criticism following the decision. Some used memes that read “Booking Bad” and Triple H is labeled as the “Worst Booker and Promoter of the Year.”

Others were far more blunt, calling for major changes behind the scenes as they wanted Triple H fired: “Holy Garbage, fire Triple H.” Other fans started using “#FireTripleH” as well. And in some cases, the criticism went even further, with fans openly rejecting Zayn’s continued run as champion and calling Triple H a bald fraud: “Bald fraud strikes again. We don’t want this guy as champion all the time.”

The reaction marks another set of negative reactions tied to Zayn’s title reign, which had already drawn mixed responses after his initial win. This time, though, the focus has shifted to the fallout — specifically, what this means for Hayes and his WrestleMania status.

With WrestleMania 42 right around the corner, this level of reaction puts even more attention on how WWE handles the United States Title picture moving forward — especially with fans making their opinions loud and clear.

Do you think WWE made the right call keeping the title on Sami Zayn, or should Carmelo Hayes still have a spot at WrestleMania 42? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
