AEW could soon welcome back one of its most popular stars—Orange Cassidy—after months on the shelf with a serious shoulder injury. According to multiple reports, the former International Champion is now cleared for action and is expected to return sooner rather than later.

Cassidy was sidelined back in March after what was believed to be a torn labrum. The injury forced him out of action for over five months, significantly impacting AEW’s creative plans throughout the spring. He reportedly underwent shoulder surgery shortly after the injury and has been recovering ever since.

BodySlam.net reported that Cassidy has been officially cleared, and Fightful Select confirmed similar findings. When they asked for an update, one source said: “He’ll be back sooner than later.”

Cassidy’s return is especially crucial at a time when AEW’s injury list is growing. Just this week, the company also lost both Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay to injuries, thinning out the top-tier talent pool even further.

Despite being off TV, Cassidy hasn’t been far from the action. He’s reportedly been backstage at numerous AEW events recently, signaling that his return may be more a matter of timing than physical readiness.

One source also mentioned that unless there’s a major setback, Cassidy “is not expected to be out through the end of the year like many other injuries.”

Cassidy’s comeback could provide AEW with a much-needed spark as the company navigates a rocky stretch filled with sidelined stars.
