The lineup for the March 6 episode of WWE SmackDown has expanded with several new developments announced ahead of the broadcast from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
In an update shared by WWE, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis confirmed that Randy Orton will kick off tonight’s show. The segment is expected to address Orton’s WrestleMania plans, as he is currently waiting to find out whether he will face Drew McIntyre or Cody Rhodes on the grand stage in Las Vegas.
The Undisputed WWE Championship will still headline the show when Drew McIntyre defends the title against Cody Rhodes in what is expected to be the main event. The outcome of that match could determine Orton’s WrestleMania opponent.
Another addition to the show includes a celebration for the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Nia Jax and Lash Legend are scheduled to appear in the ring to celebrate their recent championship victory.
The tag team division will also take center stage tonight, as WWE confirmed a Gauntlet Match will determine the next challengers for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
Meanwhile, the previously announced United States Championship Open Challenge will still take place with Carmelo Hayes defending the title, though his opponent remains unknown.
