TNA has revealed how Rebellion 2026 will kick off, and the night is starting with championship action.

During the Countdown show, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling confirmed that Leon Slater will defend the TNA X-Division Championship against Cedric Alexander in the opening match. That decision puts immediate pressure on both men, as the opening bout often sets the tone for the entire show. Slater has built strong momentum as champion, but Alexander brings experience and speed that could shake things up right from the start.

Rebellion 2026 already features several major matches, including Mike Santana defending the TNA World Championship against Eddie Edwards, while The Hardys defend the TNA World Tag Team Titles against The System.

The event takes place live from the Wolstein Center, with the Countdown show starting at 7 PM ET and the main card beginning at 8 PM ET on TNA+. Starting the night with the X-Division Championship shows TNA wants fast action right away, and fans won’t have to wait long to see a title on the line.
