WWE NXT is kicking off with serious heat tonight, and fans now know who’s opening the show.

Just under an hour before the September 9 episode went live, WWE dropped a social media clip showing Je’Von Evans in a backstage moment with Ava. The rising NXT star made it very clear he isn’t waiting around to settle business with Josh Briggs, stating, “Come 8 o’clock, it’s on sight.”

The footage confirms that Evans vs. Briggs will open tonight’s show. With NXT building toward the No Mercy Premium Live Event, this match is set to kick off the action in Orlando.

The rest of the NXT lineup includes Trick Williams calling out #DIY after last week’s brutal ambush, a Flag Match between Ethan Page and Tavion Heights, and a WWE Women’s Tag Team #1 Contenders Elimination Match. Faby Apache will also make her NXT debut against Lainey Reid in the Women’s Speed Championship tournament, and the NXT Tag Team Titles will be on the line as DarkState battles Hank Walker & Tank Ledger.
