WWE has a big show in store for fans on January 1st, but one big name won’t be there. A former WWE Champion is reportedly returning, but former SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee will have to miss the show.
The Rock made an appearance on ESPN College Gameday today alongside Pat McAfee at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, with Nick Khan around as well. The distance between the Rose Bowl and the Raw arena in San Diego is approximately a 2 to 2 and a half hour drive, which would be even less if they used the WWE corporate jet.
However, it was later clarified that Pat McAfee won’t be on RAW due to his commitment to announce the ESPN2 alternative broadcast of the Rose Bowl game. McAfee is needed at the game, so that makes his involvement on RAW not possible at all.
We will have to see what happens down the line, because tonight’s WWE RAW will be a show worth tuning in to see. WWE is kicking off 2024 with a big episode, and we already have a few interesting matches, including a big return of some kind.
Speaking of RAW, Ringside News will be providing live play-by-play coverage of tonight’s show over in our WWE Monday Night RAW coverage hub. It promises to be a memorable episode for many reasons, so it remains to be seen how the episode will turn out.
