The Nigerian Giant just made a giant leap—literally.
After months away from WWE programming, Omos made his official debut at AAA TripleManía XXXIII in Mexico City. The 7’3″ powerhouse shocked fans by entering the Copa Bardahl match as #13.
The Copa Bardahl match started with Laredo Kid and La Parka, with talent like Joaquin Wilde, Abismo Negro Jr., Taurus, Aerostar, and Otis joining in as the action escalated. The crowd erupted when Otis performed the worm, but things hit another level when Omos entered at #13, standing tall over the rest of the field and immediately shifting the tone of the match.
Omos ultimately won the match by eliminating La Parka, who had entered at #1 and lasted until the final moments. The victory marked a dominant start for the WWE star in AAA territory.
This move comes just after rumors swirled about WWE sending Omos to AAA as part of its deepening partnership with the Mexican promotion. Earlier this year, Omos made headlines with his brief but well-received stint in NOAH, where he captured the GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Titles before returning to the States.
In a recent interview, Omos confirmed his long-term WWE status, stating: “I just signed a renewal with WWE and will be there for years to come!” He also teased fans by adding, “I’ve been training really hard and working on some new things.”
Now it looks like those “new things” are being tested in front of a brand-new audience—south of the border.
Could this AAA run be the career reset Omos needed, or is WWE just buying time before bringing him back to SmackDown or RAW? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
