Odyssey Jones may be rebuilding his career on the independent circuit and in Japan, but if fans were expecting a jump to AEW—they might be waiting a while.
During a February 6, 2026 interview with Niko Exxtra, the former WWE Superstar was asked point-blank if All Elite Wrestling had contacted him. Jones confirmed he hasn’t talked to AEW, saying, “No, I haven’t talked to AEW. I know a few people in AEW.”
Jones was fired by WWE back in 2024 following allegations of domestic violence. Since then, Jones has maintained that the situation was mishandled and stemmed from a personal dispute with a woman he had been seeing while traveling—not his girlfriend, as initially rumored.
In a 2025 interview on the Generation of Wrestling podcast, Jones opened up about WWE’s decision to cut ties with him, saying the company reacted out of fear during its transition under TKO.
“Yes, WWE mishandled the situation… At the end of the day, it was a woman who was upset that I was making moves without her. TKO was transitioning into being more corporate, and they were scared.”
Jones also said he still doesn’t know what was fully reported to WWE and described legal challenges in trying to clear his name—adding that the woman in question failed to appear in court and ignored summons.
“She hasn’t shown up to any court cases… It was really just a hurt person trying to hurt me one more time, stab me in the back, and run away.”
While AEW hasn’t reached out, Jones has been making a name for himself outside the U.S., with several appearances in Japan and on the indie scene. Still, with no major promotion calling yet, his future remains wide open.
