NXT Title Match Booked For Deadline During 11/18 Gold Rush Special

WWE NXT’s Gold Rush Night One took place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, and one of the key moments of the show was a face-to-face between Ricky Saints and Oba Femi.

Oba had just returned at the end of last week’s NXT episode, so fans were waiting to see what he would do next. His comeback put him right back into the mix, and stepping up to Saints made it clear he wants his spot back.

Saints now has a real challenger in front of him, and the tension between the two set the tone for what’s coming in the title picture.

This week’s Gold Rush special saw Ricky Saints and Oba Femi have a promo battle. Saints started out by talking about how he beat Oba Femi for the title, but that didn’t surprise him. In the end, Ricky said that Oba’s biggest mistake was underestimating him. Saints also said that the NXT train kept going strong without Oba Femi around, but he’s glad to see The Ruler back. That being said, he has it twisted if he thinks he is taking the NXT Title.

Oba Femi returned fire by saying that Ricky Saints hasn’t changed, because he’s still the same little man. That was good for Oba Femi, because he wanted to beat the same version of Ricky Saints. Oba avoided NXT vs TNA, and Saints versus Trick Williams. He said all of that nonsense is beneath him, so he went home to train.

After Oba Femi made it clear that The Ruler is back, he said “your daddy is home.” That popped the NYC fans. That is when Ricky Saints agreed to a rematch at NXT Deadline. Trick Williams came out after that, and he said he wants a shot at the title. Suddenly, Myles Borne jumped him to announce that he will win the Iron Survivor Challenge match and see the champion at New Year’s Evil.

WWE NXT Deadline event is set for Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas. The Iron Survivor Challenge appears to be returning, and the lineup is already starting to form.
