This Saturday, Joe Hendry will defend the NXT Championship in a huge fatal four-way match against Ethan Page, Ricky Starks, and Tony D’Angelo at Stand & Deliver. The title bout was made official after weeks of chaos between all four men, raising the stakes for one of the biggest matches on the WrestleMania weekend card.
The final hype for that showdown continued during the March 31 episode of NXT in New York City, where Hendry, Page, Starks, and D’Angelo all took part in the official NXT Championship contract signing.
This segment for the fatal four-way contract signing went down at the top of the show’s second hour. Fans in MSG’s theater were here for it, and they seemed to be really into Tony D’Angelo’s gimmick. Of course, the former Don of NXT has been through a massive character shift in recent memory.
Joe Hendry came out as champion to a chorus of cheers. After Robert Stone introduced the segment, they argued about who would sign it first. Then Joe Hendry had no issue inking his name before anyone else. Then Joe said he can’t wait to see who stabs who in the back first between Ricky Saints and Ethan Page. Joe said he is passionate about NXT and being champion, while Saints and Page are desperate.
Ricky Saints signed the contract next, as he promised to “make everything right” after he becomes a two-time NXT Champion. Then Ethan Page did the same as he promised the same thing. Tony D’Angelo had heard enough of the talking, and he finally spoke up. He is the only man in the match who hasn’t held the title. Now it’s his turn. After that, all four men brawled in the ring as Saints and Hendry were sent through tables. Then Tony and Ethan hammered it out as security tried to separate them.
The match is set for the NXT Title. Only time will tell how it all pans out, because these four men are ready for war.
